BBC Radio 1’s take on it.
And I believe this is the first proper album review of Brain Thrust Mastery from the March edition of Q Magazine. I’ve also attached what they think is the 29th essential track to download this month:
(Many thanks, again, to Laura for almost everything in this post)

Stereogum weighs in on the album. (I agree with what’s said about Chick Lit, but not That’s What Counts. No way.)

interesting cover LOL…
wonder if we’ll see it on monday
I do wonder what we’ll see on Monday. I’m very excited. Also at some point (most likely it’ll have to be the weekend after) I should get camcorder quality videos of whatever we get on the internets.
lol.. hilarious 7 song shuffle!
Ah this is why I hate reading reviews for bands I like.
I always think “don’t do it” and then I end up reading them anyway…
Lol that cover is hilarious!

argh…i shouldnt read reviews…i just get angry
new video
THE ALBUM CAN BE DOWNLOADED ON PLAY.COM NOW!
I discovered this today and went a bit crazy. I didn’t buy it (it’s like £6.97 or something) but I was incredibly tempted. Guys that’s 16 days early!!!!
You sure about that? I just checked and it says pre-order.
Ahhhh *did not check small print due to excitement* It said buy and it was all there. Hmmm I need to look closer sometimes.
album has leaked…
Oh fucking hell, I just saw people post about it on the forum. This is when I wish there was someone actually responsible enough there to do some real moderating.
For anyone in the Manchester area…

Right, I’m done now!
Thanks, as always, Laura!
And thank you for those links too, Sue.
I’m happy to know you enjoy the songs too, Fiona. I’m mostly annoyed that there is absolutely no moderation there at the board to stop people from posting links to where to download the album. It’s not right.
Personally, I think it’s amazing that people actually post a link on the official forum. How rude and stupid is that? I think it was even regular users. Wtf.
Sorry but this had to be said.
My thoughts exactly, Lena. I understand the excitement of it all, but I think it’s disrespectful to have it mentioned on the official board of all places. And there’s so many mods listed and none of them are doing anything about it. It’s disappointing.
It is because it’s not any other internet user. You’d expect something else from a fan.
Yes, I believe they’re gonna buy the CD, sure, but that’s not the point.
oh, come on. it’s not like anyone posted a link to download it, they were just talking about where to download it. even if they didn’t talk about it on there, it’s not like that’s gonna stop people from finding it and downloading and it’s not like WAS even care, they’ve said themselves they make all their money from the weird merch they sell.
If they posted links where to download it- that’s practically the same thing as posting a direct link to the mp3s of each track! I know that there’s not a 100% way to stop people from downloading copies of the album, stuff like this happens all the time. But again, of all places, the official board should not be the place that fans talk about where or how to download it.
And the guys might have said that in an interview once, but in the grand scheme of things they need the album sales. Do you see how hard they’re pushing for people to buy the single? I didn’t even see promotion like that for “It’s a Hit.”
I’m going to close the comments on this post. I feel like I’m beating a dead horse here.
