Worst Gig Ever:
The black leather driving gloves come off when We Are Scientists bassman/resident jokester Chris Cain enters “the band area” with KO-kaliber tales of slagging off in the U.K. press and fighting other bands, hosting awards shows and being a “rock star dad. We also get into W.A.S.’s patented brand of comedy “behind the music,” and celebrate the release of their brand spankin’ new album, TV en Francais. ”Bass in your face say peace see ya later” on this week’s WORST GIG EVER!
If you pre-order TV en Français on iTunes, “Make It Easy” is available to download immediately.
The Line of Best Fit is streaming “Make It Easy” off TV en Français.
“Dumb Luck” bears all the hallmarks of their awesome: the gnarly, nimble riffs, the zingy pace, the way Chris and Keith’s vocals layer up and sound just the right amount of world weary, while simultaneously making you want to jump around like an idiot.
Visually this video is sick. It’s the goriest, grossest three minutes the pair have ever had a hand in. It also contains some vital life lessons like exercising is dangerous, juicing is for losers, DIY is not for dummies, and don’t smoke on the fire escape, you dirty hipster.
It felt like a Christmas miracle that we got another (free) We Are Scientists show in Los Angeles!
Here’s the setlist (sorry it’s a bit difficult to read):
Rules Don’t Stop
What You Do Best
I Don’t Bite
Return The Favor
Make It Easy
Great Escape (they didn’t play this one)
They played “Sprinkles” and “Make It Easy” for the first time here in LA and I can’t get over how good these tracks are. I was freaking out over the new songs they played earlier this year but geez these other new ones- hot damn, I’m so excited for the new album and tour! (Buy tickets to the 2014 tour, everybody!)
And here’s some photos from the show (the rest of ‘em are here on Flickr):
Make It Easy:
Sprinkles: (I recorded this too, but Jenn’s video of this is way better than mine)
We Are Scientists performed at Mustache Dache‘s Mustache Bash concert yesterday at Elysian Park here in Los Angeles and I took some photos:
And I recorded some videos:
Clash Music is streaming “Dumb Luck” from Business Casual! Listen to the track there.
It’s a busy late January and March for We Are Scientists because they’ll be touring through Australia, the UK and Europe!
and you can watch this nice little video they made where you can see these tour dates:
I highly suggest joining their mailing list ASAP to get first access to tickets for this tour.
Another Business Casual track is online to listen to! It’s called “Good Answer.” It’s on their soundcloud page.
The Wild Honey Pie is streaming the new We Are Scientists track, “Let Me Win.”
