“We Are Scientists have a reputation for dropping hilarious videos that take our breath away, and in person they didn’t disappoint. Seriousness was not part of the agenda as we talked about a random assortment of topics ranging from Destro’s metal head to celebrities that are (allegedly) secretly bald.”

BreakThru Radio Live Studio: We Are Scientists

BTR Live Studio: We Are Scientists
We Are Scientists first appeared on the scene about a decade ago, touring internationally and becoming massively popular on the strength of their hit-packed debut album. Now, well into their career and still making memorable, danceable songs, they’re touring in support of their latest batch of tunes, and they stopped by to share those and chat with Maia.

We Are Scientists in San Diego on May 10, 2014

The last of the California run of shows was in San Diego at the Casbah on May 10 (Keith’s birthday!!!). We got Matt Sharp again at this one – can this just be a normal thing you’ll always do for any Southern California show, guys? (Chick Lit sounds a hundred times better with Matt on it.)

I didn’t take a lot of photos from this one and only a few came out ok:

The rest of them are on Flickr.

And a good review of the show:

Listen Hear: Tour Review: We Are Scientists, PAWS (San Diego)

I’ve never taken this many videos at a We Are Scientists show and I generally hate being that person at shows who films too much, but I couldn’t help going overboard anyway for this show because I knew it’d be my last one from them for a while. Enjoy all NINE of ’em:

Lethal Enforcer

Take An Arrow

We Are Scientists in Los Angeles on May 9, 2014

I knew this show in LA was going to be good but I never expected that it was going to be as crazy unbelievable as it was. Four days later, I’m still grinning about it. It was phenomenal.

So here’s some of the photos I shot:

The local music blogs did an outstanding job in capturing this unforgettable night:

Samantha Saturday for LA Record
Kelsey Heng for Buzzbands LA

I’m really glad that I didn’t completely lose my shit and drop my camera when Matt Sharp came on stage to perform with the guys. Here’s what I ended up recording:

I think the encore also had “What You Do Best” and “This Scene Is Dead.”

The rest of the photos I took for this show are here on my Flickr page.

And don’t forget to check out my friend Abby’s photos from this show too – her photos are fantastic and I’m sure there’ll be more from her I’ll have to link to from the shows in Vancouver and Seattle.

Here’s a few videos:

Lethal Enforcer (!!!!!!!)

Dinosaurs (I started kind of late in recording it but that whole part before Chris’s bass solo thing at the end that I always enjoy- HOLY CRAP that was awesome)
